Pets now scale with the hunter: 2 Health per Stamina, 30% of armor, 10% of the highest attack power and 100% of crit. Every pet family has at least one unique ability; 10 new abilities were added (Swipe, Web, Trickster's Dance, Dust Cloud, Mine!, Dismember and others).
Talents and class choices
Beast Mastery gained Summon Hawk (a pseudo second pet, shares Arcane Shot's cooldown) and Focused Fire (+2% damage while the pet is active). Marksmanship gained a baseline Aimed Shot that shares a cooldown with Multi-Shot.
Launch tuning: a late-October hotfix buffed Marksmanship area damage (Trick Shots 85%, Explosive Shot/Volley +10%); 3 November buffed Trueshot Aura, Aspect of the Hawk, Barrage, Sniper Shot and Aimed Shot.
Best races: Night Elf (Elune's Light) on Alliance, Orc (Blood Fury) on Horde; Skyborne only for Elemental fights. Best professions: Leatherworking and Engineering. BM is the easiest spec; the 8-yard dead zone still matters.
