Ranks: Apprentice/Journeyman at capital trainers; Expert in Ironforge (/way 51.4 42.2) or Orgrimmar (/way 82.3 23.0) at 125/20 for 50 silver; Artisan quest at 200.
Specializations: Armorsmith and Weaponsmith. Armorsmith recipes include Dark Iron Plate, Demon Forged Breastplate, Dawnbringer Shoulders, Fiery Plate Gauntlets, Dark Iron Bracers and Whitesoul Helm.
Camp feature: Sharpening Wheel (+Strength), which does not stack with Strength of Earth Totem. Blacksmithing also makes plate armor, weapons and sharpening stones while leveling.
Best pairing: Mining. New plans and the campsite feature are in the launch build; the 600+ recipe pool is shared across professions.
