Damage over time effects can now crit. Damage-dealing curses became Banes, so Bane of Agony/Bane of Doom and Curse of the Elements can coexist on one target.
Talents and class choices
Wrack is the 31-point channel that makes other Shadow DoTs deal 10% more damage. Soul Harvest restores 100% mana regen for 10 seconds after a Drain Soul kill; Improved Drains increases drain effects by 20%. Curse of the Elements now boosts all magic schools.
Races: Human, Gnome, Orc, Undead and Troll (new). Human and Orc are strong in PvE and PvP; Undead for PvP; Troll against beast bosses. Gnome's Eureka does not buff DoTs.
Affliction has strong cleave and long-fight damage but no burst; Haste only affects Shadow Bolt and the GCD. Best professions: Tailoring + Engineering, or Enchanting with Tailoring.
