Legit income: questing + vendoring, gathering (Mining, Herbalism, Skinning), Fishing, crafting margins, dungeon runs and cloth from humanoids. Early materials (ore, herbs, Light Leather, Linen Cloth) are in demand because thousands of characters level professions at once.

Alchemy transmutes (Transmute: Arcanite) are a long-cooldown profit; Fishing has essentially no cost; cooking fish into food adds value. Sell excess materials rather than vendoring them.
